Long Format Video Editing for MSF South Asia

Doctors Without Borders/ Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organisation that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters and exclusion from healthcare.

A significant aspect of my role involved meticulously editing long-format videos. These weren't just project-centric; they delved into topics such as tuberculosis and mental health, aiming to serve a larger purpose by educating and informing viewers about these crucial subjects.

Editing such videos involved meticulously combing through hours of extensive interviews and various footage to craft a concise, engaging version accessible to diverse audiences. This extensive process not only needed decoding content but also navigating through feedback, approvals, and discussions to align shots with the organization's core principles. Additionally, I handled color correction and sound design to ensure a polished final product. Many more are in pipeline, will update them soon as well.
In India, MSF is advocating for improved pediatric TB diagnostic tools and oral treatment options, aligning with the latest WHO guidelines. Current tools are not child-friendly, impacting TB case detection, especially for children under 10 who can't produce sputum. Invasive methods for sputum collection are uncomfortable for them. MSF urges India's National TB Elimination Programme to enable the use of pediatric formulations of Bedaquiline and Delamanid for children under 5. Check out the impactful video for more details.
Introducing our Mobile Response Team (MRT): a dedicated team consisting of a compassionate driver, a community healthcare member, and a counsellor on the road to bring help directly to the community! Every day, our teams are out there, actively monitoring social media, diving into daily print media, and tuning into electronic updates to identify families in crisis. Watch our incredible team members shine a light on our mental health care efforts, raise awareness, and reach out to those in need in the valley.
MSF has been offering free counselling services in Kashmir, India since 2001. Currently, our teams offer counselling services at hospitals in five districts: Baramulla, Shopian, Pulwama, Srinagar, and Sopore. To make mental health care accessible to all and bring it to the heart of the community, we collaborated with the Ministry of Health. This collaboration gave birth to the innovative 5-pillar concept, which includes: 1. Face-to-face counselling 2. Community-based approach 3. Mobile Response Team (MRT) 4. Raise awareness 5. Discussions & Training with Ministry of Health Staff
Together, we are improving access to care where it matters the most.
Watch the video to meet our team members on the ground and witness the impact they are making first-hand.
